Lens Care

Caring for Your Lenses

When using cosmetic lenses, it is important to know exactly how to take care of your lenses. As with all contact lenses, if cosmetics lenses are handled incorrectly, there is a possibility for damage towards your eyes. Therefore, we wrote this hopefully helpful guide in order to help you with your new lenses as well as to help you minimize the possibility of damage to your eyes.

Before Ordering

Be sure to check with your optometrist to make sure that these contacts are right for you! Keep in mind, by ordering from us, you are agreeing that it is your responsibility to have done so. Otherwise, please check up with an optometrist before you order these lenses.

After Receiving

Step One - Check Your Lenses

When you receive your lenses, check the vials as well as the lenses for any possible defects. Although, Infinitely Pink, will try their best to check all of the lenses before they are delivered to you, please check again to ensure that they are in the best condition. If they are any less than perfect, please contact us and we will try to ensure your satisfaction!

 Remember to check:
   - For any cracks on any of the vials
   - That the lenses have not expired (Expiry date is on the side of the vial)
   - To see if both lenses are of the same design
   - If any of the lenses have any rips or tears

Step Two - Opening Your Lenses

Even though it may seem hard or even confusing to open the vials, it can be done fairly easily if you follow these steps.

  1. Find the upward arrow on the metal part of the lid and pull the plastic cap upwards
  2. Take off the plastic cap along with all of the metal sealing
  3. Remove the white plug and take out your lenses

If you are having any trouble, a pair of scissors may help you open the vials. Also, if you're having trouble taking the lenses out, do not use tap water to take them out. Instead, use contact lens solution to remove the lenses from the vials.

Step Three - Preparing Your Lenses

Before actually using your lenses, you have to prepare them. The first step is to wash your hands before handling your contacts. Then, with your contact lens solution, disinfect your contact case for extra safety. After, soak the lenses for at least 8 hours before use. Do not directly put the lenses into your eye regardless of how desperately you would like to because this could result in pain as well as damage to your eyes. Patience is a virtue. Just wait. Seriously.

Step Four - Using Your Lenses

Firstly, be sure to have washed your hands with mild soap. Then, completely dry your soap-free hands  and avoid unnecessary touching of anything when putting your lenses in your eyes. By having the discipline to always wash your hands before inserting the lenses, you can help prevent the risk of infections.

Once you have clean hands and have a mirror in front of you, take out the lenses. Be sure to use the right lens for the right eye! Also, remember to make sure the lenses are not inside-out before you put them into your eyes. Next, put the lens on your index finger and use your other eye to aid the insertion of your lenses. When you have them in, do not blink rapidly, but rather slowly as the lens re-adjusts itself. Finally, repeat the steps for your left eye and you're done!

After you have finished wearing your lenses, take out your previous contact case. Then, throw away the used solution, wash, and replenish your contact case with new solution. Once you have taken your lenses out of your eyes, wash them with a few drops of your contact lens solution before you put them into the case. Be sure that they are stored in room temperature and don't forget to change the solution every so often too!

Step Five - Reminders

Be sure to keep the following in mind!

     - Cosmetic contact lenses are not for everyone so be sure you check if they are right for you!
     - Do not wear your lenses when swimming, showering, or in the sauna
     - Do not wear your lenses for more than 8 hours a day
     - Do not wear your lenses when you sleep
     - Do not share your lenses with any other people, even if they are your friends!
     - If your eyes are ever dry, use eye drops for moisture!
     - Be sure you follow the instructions to soak the lenses for 8 hours before use
     - Change the contact case every few months to avoid bacteria growth
     - Lenses expire after one year after opening to be aware of the expiry date!
